Re-look: Women that inspire us every day

We’re introducing Re-look. A collection of personal recommendations and reflections that are close to the hearts of our people across the globe and that celebrate true female visionaries. And our aim? To inspire our colleagues, clients and communities and for us at Re to do our bit to help break the cycle of systemic gender bias.

It’s a sad fact that we live in a world filled with harmful gender bias and discrimination that’s deeply embedded in the systems of our daily lives. To work towards a gender-equal world, we all need to be aware of the challenges faced by many women so we can create positive change.

This year’s International Women’s Day is about breaking the bias. Unfortunately, design is guilty of embedding those bias’ and we (as creatives) have the power to flip that narrative and recreate the world we want.

At Re, we’re careful to understand these bias’ so we can create excellent design, that inspires connection, breaks barriers and provides hope. We believe design can be the glue that holds everything together and has the power to create positive change, remove ambiguity, and isolation.

Ahead of International Women’s Day, we got together as a group to reflect and celebrate the creatives, musicians, humanitarians, authors, actors, presenters, illustrators, fashion designers, and our very own female talent who are making an impact, and inspire us in our own work.

So we’re introducing Re-look. A collection of personal recommendations and reflections that are close to the hearts of our people across the globe and that celebrate true female visionaries. And our aim? To inspire our colleagues, clients and communities and for us at Re to do our bit to help break the cycle of systemic gender bias.

This doesn’t end today. Re-look is our constant (and evolving) point of reflection for helping build a more gender-equal world. To visit, and revisit time and again.

Read, digest, share and be inspired.

Celebrating our queer community this Mardi Gras

For those of us in the queer community Pride isn’t just an annual event: Pride is something we tap into in a range of ways in our everyday lived experience. That being said, the season of Mardi Gras is particularly joyful, as we take the opportunity to gather and celebrate the diversity of our community in a festival in the heart of Sydney.
